Not Too Early Big XII Hoops Predictions: No. 9, West Virginia
As expected, West Virginia's first post-Huggins season was very rough. The Mountaineers won only nine games overall and four in the Big XII. They've obviously got a very long way to go before they can challenge in the Big XII. However, the 2024 squad is gone. Literally. Only two players from that team return and neither of them figure to be in the rotation this season. And this is one case in which roster discontinuity is probably a very good thing.
The Snub still sticks with some FSU players, but moving on is the objective in 2024
There are still times when it gets to Patrick Payton. 'It' being The Snub. No further explanation needed. Typically, those bad feelings from that December morning come pouring back up whenever he sees clips or a highlight video from last year's Florida State team. It's the good times that spark the bad memories.

VIP Notes: Takeaways from Miami basketball's open practice
- Jalil Bethea was incredible. He's a kind of talent that I'm not sure if Miami's ever had before. His shooting off the catch was excellent, as was his shot off the dribble. He uses his length and twitchy hips really effectively in order to create space. He's in contention to be the best shooter in the 2025 NBA Draft. His athleticism was also very apparent. He had this one thunderous dunk during a live-game situation drill that really stood out. He's a threat in transition and is constantly looking to push the pace.
