The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers finished 8-5 last year, their third consecutive winning season in a row and fourth in five seasons under head coach Tyson Helton. Helton's background is quite interesting. His father, Kim, was a long-time offensive line coach who spent most of his career in the NFL. Tyson coached under his father at UAB from 2007-2011. After a one-year stint at Cincinnati, he coached at Western Kentucky for the first time under Jeff Brohm from 2014-15. Then, he reunited with his brother Clay at USC, serving as his offensive coordinator for two years.
