So, I am going all-in on Ja'Crorey Brooks. The transfer from Alabama is the go-to guy now that Caullin Lacy is out for an extended period of time. We have seen Brooks make huge plays down the field and I'm banking on it. I think he will end up having a monster season, leading the team in receptions and yards receiving. He'll be one of the top wide receivers in the ACC.Quarterback Tyler ShoughYes, I am not going to put him lower than this spot. Shough appears to be primed for a huge season. He's adjusted well into the system, he's experienced enough to know exactly what coach Jeff Brohm wants and it looks like he will deliver. I am looking for a monster season.Running back Maurice TurnerThe trouble with putting a running back in this spot is they could be splitting so many reps that the numbers are all lower than expected. I'll still give it a shot with Turner, who I think will be the main guy to start the season and I expect he'll have a big season. The Texas Tech transfer was brought in to direct a veteran offense with strengths at each position. Many of teammates have praised the performance of Shough during fall camp for his ability to make consistent throws at all levels. His ability to throw accurately while leaving the pocket has also drawn positive reaction from teammates, as has his threat to create yards with his legs. This isn't to say another member of UofL's QB depth chart couldn't rise to the occasion, but Shough certainly has the experience and talent to help the Cardinals get out to a hot start in 2024 and chase its championship goals.Wide receiver Ja'Corey BrooksThe spotlight on Alabama transfer Ja'Corey Brooks became a bit brighter when fellow receiver Caullin Lacy suffered an injury during the final scrimmage that will have him out for an extended period. The highest-rated member of Louisville's large transfer group, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound redshirt senior was a notable performer during the open portion of fall camp. The former five-star prospect has made big plays in big moments during his time with the Crimson Tide and that type of performance will be needed for the Cardinals this fall.Offensive tackle Michael GonzalezThere are a few offensive linemen that could sit in this spot. Senior Michael Gonzalez has been a near constant presence on the UofL line since arriving as a freshman. His experience helps highlight an impressive depth chart up front that could potentially rotate 10 guys with little concern. Gonzalez's understanding of the offensive scheme and veteran presence can be a difference-maker for the Cardinals this fall.
