Water Lantern Festival Coming to Marietta

The Water Lantern Festival is coming to Marietta this month, and you're not going to want to miss this beautiful and reflective fest.

The Water Lantern Festival is coming to Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta on August 2-3, 2024. This traveling festival features food trucks, live music, entertainment, a lantern kit, and a lantern launch.

The beginning of this family-friendly festival will feature food trucks, booths, live music, kid-friendly entertainment, and more.

But the real highlight of the festival is when guests get the chance to design their own water lantern. Many people draw on their lanterns, write the names of loved ones, create inspirational messages, or write messages of hope on their lanterns.

After completing your lantern, you'll be able to take part in the Lantern Launch, where hundreds of lanterns are released in the water, with the soft glow of their lights reflecting in the water.

(Note that all lanterns will be cleaned up after the event by festival staff. The lanterns are made from rice paper and wood so they are as eco-friendly as possible and organizers reuse and recycle the LED candles.)

The festival will take place from 6pm - 10pm both days, with the Lantern Launch taking place between 9pm - 10pm each night.
