    Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites protect our state's natural beauty and provide spaces for everyone to get outside and reconnect with nature. Additionally, they offer some great programs and events each month!

    Their program theme for 2024 is "Tales of Scales" and their calendar is filled with activities teaching about reptiles. You'll also find tons of other awesome activities throughout the year, like sunset paddles, ranger walks, Family Fun Days, archery, and so much more.

    Here are some of the special events happening at Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites in the month of August.

    • Sunset Hike - August 2, 16, and 30 - Fort Mountain State Park, Chatsworth
    • Snakes of CCSP - August 3, 5, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, and 26 - Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn
    • Creek Critters - August 4, 10, 14, 20, 24, and 25 - Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn
    • Paint the Park - August 18 and 31 - Fort Mountain State Park, Chatsworth
