    Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites protect our state's natural beauty and provide spaces for everyone to get outside and reconnect with nature. Additionally, they offer some great programs and events each month!

    Their program theme for 2024 is "Tales of Scales" and their calendar is filled with activities teaching about reptiles. You'll also find tons of other awesome activities throughout the year, like sunset paddles, ranger walks, Family Fun Days, archery, and so much more.

    Here are some of the special events happening at Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites in the month of September.

    • Gnarly Neighbors - September 2, 9, 16 and 23, Skidaway Island State Park, Savannah
    • Bats of Georgia - September 7 and 28, Amicalola Falls State Park, Dawsonville
    • Sitton's Cave Adventures (pre-registration required) - September 7, 8, 14, 22, 28 and 29, Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rising Fawn
    • Full Moon Hike - September 17, Tallulah Gorge State Park, Tallulah Falls
    • Fall Hayrides - September 20 and 27, Magnolia Springs State Park, Millen
