Joe Mixon is a running back for any scheme, Texans OC Bobby Slowik says

Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is excited to have Joe Mixon added to his bevy of weapons.

Mixon is arguably the best running back to play for the Texans since Arian Foster. Mixon has rushed for 1,000 yards or more in four of his seven NFL seasons, including last year when he ran for 1,034.

Slowik was asked last week what made Mixon a good scheme fit for Houston and the running back's experience really speaks for itself.

"Not to sound like I am joking when I say this, but he is just a really good running back, in all regards," Slowik said. "It doesn’t matter what run scheme you run, he has run zone schemes, he has run gap schemes, he has been used as a receiver, he has really done everything.

"Now that he is here and we meet the person, I can see why he has always been successful. He works his tail off, he has a great mindset, he is a professional, he knows that this time of year and all the way through the season is continuously about growth, and he fits right in with the culture we have."
