(670 The Score) Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams has officially signed on the dotted line.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Williams inked his rookie contract Wednesday afternoon, one day after the Bears' first-year players reported to Halas Hall for training camp. It's a slotted four-year deal worth $39.5 million and includes a fifth-year team option for 2028.

Williams signed following apparent negotiations over language in the contract. Williams' contract process was also complicated by his choice not to hire a certified agent, meaning the Bears could only discuss terms with him directly.

Williams, 22, recently said he was trusting his contract matters to attorneys who represent his interests.

The Bears named Williams their new starting quarterback early in the offseason program. Williams led the first-team offense in rookie minicamp, OTAs and veteran minicamp.

Williams was the Bears' last rookie to sign his deal. Receiver Rome Odunze, the No. 9 overall pick, signed his contract Tuesday. Chicago's three other 2024 draft picks — offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie, punter Tory Taylor and pass rusher Austin Booker — each struck their deals in May.

The Bears' veterans report to training camp Friday at Halas Hall. The team will hold its first practice Saturday morning.
