    Rowhome fire that left one person dead in West Philadelphia ruled arson

    A fire that left one man dead and another injured on Thursday evening inside a rowhome in West Philadelphia has been ruled arson.

    Fire crews were called to the 5700 block of Harmer Street at 7:30 p.m. for a fire in a two-story rowhome.

    It took more than 60 firefighters about a half hour to get things under control.

    A 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 48-year-old man was also hurt.

    The fire marshal has ruled this an arson.

    No arrests have been made.

    I was wondering what was going on outside with all the police, fire engines and rescue trucks. I didn't smell smoke or see flames. I assumed it was a shooting when the helicopter came. My condolences 😔

    There's 2 much going on in front of Police Stations. My niece got killed right across the street from one. Years later & of course the case went cold.
