NJ fishermen save NYC swimmer found 2 miles from shore after treading water for hours
A man was rescued by fishermen after being pulled out to sea by the tide at New York City beach. He was then found by the men almost two miles away from the shoreline in New Jersey.Police said a 34-year-old man went into the water at Breezy Point in Queens when he was swept out by the tide.The man said he was treading water for several hours until he was found by the fishermen.Police received a call at 9 a.m. that a commercial fisherman spotted a swimmer in distress about two miles away from the shoreline of Sandy Hook.The fisherman and his son brought the man onto their boat and transported him back to Monmouth Cove Marina in Port Monmouth.Officers met the swimmer at the marina where he was seen by medical personnel and was found to be in good condition.Officers provided the swimmer, who identified himself as Pete Ordane of New York City, with dry clothes and food before arranging transportation from the area.The Middletown Police commended the fisherman and his son, who live in Port Monmouth and wish to remain anonymous, for saving Ordane's life.
Beef bandits make off with 400 cases of meat after cargo truck heist in Southwest Philadelphia
Another cargo truck has been targeted by thieves in Philadelphia.This time, bandits made off with $15,000 worth of beef from a truck parked in Southwest Philadelphia.Police believe the suspects are part of a crime ring responsible for similar robberies dating back to last year.Investigators said the thieves struck around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and broke into a cargo trailer, swiping 200 cases of oxtail.The owner of Bradway Trucking, Andrew Bradway, told Action News the driver was sleeping in the truck sleeper when the criminals pounced.A witness saw the theft unfold on the 2800 block of S. 63rd Street and called police.The...

Chester County school board holds meeting to address 22 fake TikTok accounts impersonating teachers

Montco man accused of killing Norristown State Hospital roommate over an altercation involving books
A patient at Norristown State Hospital in Montgomery County is facing charges after authorities say he killed another patient over an altercation involving books.Officers responded to the facility around 9:45 p.m. Sunday.The suspect, 34-year-old Kyle Samuels-Robey, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Jacob Gonzalez.According to court documents, Samuels-Robey told hospital staffers that he "beat up" and "choked out" the victim because he had thrown his books.Both the victim and suspect were observed lying in their hospital beds at 9:30 p.m.Minutes later, Samuels-Robey reportedly left his room to ask for ice for his hand. He then told staffers about the bedside assault, court documents allege.Gonzalez was found slumped over his bed, unresponsive and later pronounced dead.An autopsy determined his cause of death to be asphyxiation due to neck compression.Samuels-Robey is being held without bail.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 25 at 10 a.m.

Several committees came together in Center City Philadelphia on Monday to mark 30 years since the deadly bombing of a Jewish center in Argentina.A ceremony paid tribute to the 85 people killed in the attack.The bombing, which also wounded about 300 people, happened at a Jewish community center on July 18, 1994, in Buenos Aires.An Argentine court found that Iran planned the attack, which was carried out by Hezbollah operatives.

Joe Gentile started working with his dad at his small farm stand at age 7 in Broomall 1954. Teenage girl dead after shooting inside West Philadelphia apartment

Scammers try to trick drivers into sharing financial information to settle outstanding tolls
