Gov. Hochul Addresses Mental Health Risks Of Social Media

Governor Kathy Hochul says she's putting more resources towards addressing mental health concerns because of teens using social media.

“We are working closely with mental health advocates and service providers to ensure young New Yorkers have access to the support they need," Hochul said.

The governor expanding mental health first aid training and is calling for the legislature to pass a measure that addresses online safety.

Meeting with advocates and families across the state has only reinforced my commitment to advance legislation to combat addictive social media feeds and protect kids online," Hochul said.
