Columbia University Restricts Access To Campus

Beginning on Monday, people will need a Columbia University ID to get onto the Morningside campus.

The new policy is designed to prevent anti-Israeli protesters from taking over the school like they did in the Spring. Demonstrators were camped out for multiple weeks and eventually took over a building, forcing police to move in to clear them out. It caused the university-wide commencement ceremony to be canceled.

All guests wanting to enter the campus will have to be pre-approved.
