Robert Tucker Named New FDNY Commissioner

Mayor Eric Adams has appointed Robert Tucker as the new commissioner of the FDNY.

“Commissioner Tucker brings decades of experience in protecting public safety to this role, as well as strong personal ties to the FDNY," Adams said.

Tucker is the chairman and CEO of T&M Protection Resources and also serves as secretary of the FDNY Foundation. He replaces Laura Kavanagh, whose resignation became effective last week.

“Public safety has been my life’s work. I’ve had a long career in the public and private sector and being appointed commissioner of the FDNY is the biggest honor of my life," Tucker said.
