LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The community is still fighting for answers nearly a month after Reba the bulldog was killed.

The dog was found taped in a plastic tub in the extreme July heat. Since then, a massive movement has taken shape.

“We are not stopping,” Vegas Pet Rescue volunteer Lindsey Pinapfel said.

The “Justice for Reba” efforts are still going strong, as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police search for the person responsible.

“This dog has brought a community together,” Pinapfel said. “It has brought the nation together.”

Reward rises to $50K leading to arrest in Reba the English Bulldog’s death

A reward leading to an arrest has grown to $50,000 thanks to local and national donors. 48 digital billboards are also displayed across the city, with mobile billboards also scheduled to drive up and down the Las Vegas Strip.

“It is not just about Reba,” Pinapfel added. “It’s about animal abuse altogether.”

Vegas Pet Rescue Project, the non-profit that spearheaded Reba’s care is now partnering with local radio station 98.5 to canvass across Southern Nevada.

With 10,000 fliers donated by local businesses, Pinapfel told 8 News Now they are holding four different volunteer events, asking people to join the fight and post them everywhere.

The times and locations are scheduled as follows:

    • Tuesday, August 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 6030 Centennial Center Blvd, Las Vegas 89149
    • Wednesday, August 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 1420 Paseo Verde Pkwy, Henderson 89012
    • Thursday, August 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 1220 E Lake Mead Blvd, North Las Vegas, NV 89030
    • Friday, August 30 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 8594 Blue Diamond Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89178

“We’re asking people to volunteer, come grab a shirt,” Pinapfel said. “But also help us plaster the town.”

Over 100 free “Justice for Reba” t-shirts will be handed out. Anyone who has already purchased one is asked to wear it.

This is just the latest effort to get answers and spread the word.

“It has spread nationwide, but you can still go somewhere and find someone who hasn’t heard this story,” she added. “And the whole point of this, we want everyone to hear this story.”

Pinapfel said it is also important to shed light on the ongoing issue of animal abuse.

“This is ground zero for a lot of people,” she explained. “Who didn’t know and know what’s going on.”

It’s all in honor of Reba, who continues to make an impact even after she’s gone.

“When I tell you,” Pinapfel concluded. “This is just the beginning.”
