Man on scooter killed in Henderson crash

LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — A man has died after a Monday morning crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian riding an electronic scooter.

On Monday, Aug. 26 shortly before 9 a.m., the Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of Broadbent Boulevard and Boulder Highway after reports of a collision.

According to police, the crash involved a vehicle and a man riding a “stand-up electronic scooter.”

Police said the man on the scooter was traveling west on Broadbent in the center driving lane when a black Mercedes, also traveling west on Broadbent, made a U-turn, causing the scooter to hit the Mercedes.

Medical personnel took the man to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators. Police said impairment was not a factor in the crash, but said speed is an unknown factor.

The name of the victim will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.

Henderson police said this was the 14th accident-related facility for 2024 in their jurisdiction.
