LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — An accountant from Atlanta is making history in Las Vegas, becoming the first hotel guest to choreograph a Bellagio fountain show.

Scott Krupa earned the opportunity by cashing in 2.4 million points in the Marriott Bonvoy program. The new show debuted Monday at 10 a.m.

“This tops the list of things I’ve been able to do in my life,” Krupa said.

Krupa’s show was set to the song Beautiful Day by U2 — chosen in part for its explosive chorus.

The attraction — a system of more than 1,000 fountains in an artificial lake in front of the resort along the Las Vegas Strip — was designed to “romance the senses,” according to Bellagio’s own description. For Krupa, it’s a big responsibility.

“It puts a lot of pressure on a regular normal guy,” Krupa said.

Bellagio recently celebrated 25 years, and this is the first time this has ever been done. The show is the 40th version at the fountains, one of the most photographed fountains in the world.
