Woman on scooter dies after crash west of Las Vegas Strip, I-15: police

Update : The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Gail Hohimer, 52, of Barstow, California. Her cause of death was listed as blunt force injuries, with the manner being accidental.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A deadly crash involving a scooter and an SUV has shut down traffic just west of the I-15 and the Las Vegas Strip, according to police.

The crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Valley View Boulevard and Twain Avenue, Las Vegas Metro police said.

The female driver of the scooter was pronounced dead on scene by medical personnel. The driver of the SUV stopped following the crash. Police told 8 News Now impairment is suspected.

All northbound lanes and southbound lanes are blocked from Twain Avenue to Spring Mountain Road, according to RTC of Southern Nevada.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
