Suspicious item prompts road closures in south Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A police investigation into a suspicious item in the south Las Vegas valley has prompted road closures in the area.

Las Vegas Metro police began investigating the situation shortly after 2 p.m. in the 9700 block of South Maryland Parkway.

All southbound lanes and all eastbound lanes at Silverado Ranch Boulevard and Maryland Parkway are blocked at the intersection. Drivers should prepare for heavy delays in the area.
