LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — United Way of Southern Nevada will host its 9th Annual Day of Caring this Friday.

On Sept. 13, this community service event will bring together hundreds of volunteers across the valley to lend a helping hand and give back to the community.

“(Our Day of Caring) is a testament to the incredible spirit of our community,” Samuel Rudd, COO/CFO of UWSN, said. “It’s an opportunity for us all to come together, roll up our sleeves, and make a lasting impact. Every act of kindness, big or small, helps build a stronger, more connected Southern Nevada.”

UWSN invites volunteers to join forces with local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations in a shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of thousands of families, students, seniors, and individuals in Southern Nevada.

Volunteer activities range from enhancing school gardens to assembling school supply kits for local students and to distributing essential food items to those in need. For those who are unable to serve in person, Day of Caring offers virtual opportunities as well.

Day of Caring takes place on Friday, Sept. 13, and will begin with a kickoff celebration at 8:30 a.m. at Town Square Park. Following the celebration, volunteers will disperse across the valley at 10 a.m. to engage in nearly 40 impactful projects aimed at supporting the community.

Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the day until 9 p.m.
