LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The energy was high in North Las Vegas as over 100 people attended Tuesday’s presidential debate watch party hosted by the Nevada Democratic Party in support of Vice President Kamala Harris.

“We’re going to see two versions of the candidate’s vision of America,” Chair of the Nevada Democratic Party, Daniele Monroe-Moreno told 8 News Now.

Voters cheered on several remarks made by Harris towards her opponent, former President, Donald Trump.

“Everybody knows I’m an open book,” Trump said during Tuesday’s debate.

“It’s time to turn the page,” Harris added.

Harris promised Americans an “Opportunity Economy,” to help the middle class, provide better housing, and protect a woman’s right to choose among several other topics.

“I am actually the only person on the stage who has a plan that is about, lifting up the middle-class and the working people of America and the government and Donald Trump certainly should not be telling a woman what to do with her body,” Harris said during the presidential debate.

Those at the watch party were very pleased with the turnout, stating that they want to see a leader with values who lifts people up instead of beating them down.

“I’m a black woman in America. My children are biracial and we have a candidate in Harris that understands and appreciates the diversity of who we are as a nation,” Daniele Monroe-Moreno said.

“She’s a prosecutor. She knows how to deal with bad men and she cares about the people she’s governing,” Neil Harley said.

“This is a wonderful thing to see all the different unique people here and to hear their stories, where they come from and just to see us all unite,” Leora Tejas said.

“I myself, have a better future, knowing that I’m here today,” Elia Aldama added,

There were 80 Democratic watch parties across the state of Nevada with 66 held in Clark County on Tuesday night.
