LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — On Wednesday, officials from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) sent an emergency notification regarding a man armed with a knife near the campus.

At approximately 8 a.m. on Sept. 11, the UNLV Police Department said the man was armed with a knife near the north side of UNLV’s main campus.

The man was described by police as an adult around 5’5″ tall with a skinny build and estimated to be between 20 and 25 years old. According to the alert, he was last seen without a shirt near the intersection of Flamingo Road and Claymont Street.

Around 9 a.m., UNLV police sent a follow-up notification indicating that the threat had been resolved and that the suspect was no longer in the area.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to investigate this case.

Police said that normal campus activities could resume. However, as of midday on Wednesday, they had not said whether or not the suspect had been taken into custody.
