LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — The iconic classic rock band Eagles has kicked off a series of concerts at Sphere in Las Vegas.

Friday was the opening night for the newest resident at Las Vegas’ shimmering orb slash performance venue, Sphere. Eagles rocked the venue for the first time, opening the night with their massive and iconic hit, “Hotel California.”

Sphere, which has become known for its striking visual component, made international headlines just a week before hosting UFC 306, the first large sporting event at the venue.

Eagles will perform regularly at Sphere into January 2025, and many of their 2024 shows have already sold out.

In conjunction with the opening of this new concert series in Las Vegas, The Venetian is hosting an experience transplanting the iconic Troubadour nightclub from Southern California into Southern Nevada. The Troubadour is where Eagles founding members Glenn Frey and Don Henley met in 1970.

Frey died in 2016. For the 2024 residency, Eagles consist of Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill, and Deacon Frey, son of the late Glenn Frey.

Eagles will play their next show at Sphere on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
