UPDATE: The Clark County Coroner’s office identified the motorcyclist as 41-year-old Juan Quintanar of Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a wall and a pole in the east Las Vegas valley, according to Metro police.

On Sunday around 5:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle on East Sahara Avenue west of Walnut Road near Lamb Boulevard.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements showed that a Kawasaki EX250-J failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the road hitting a brick retaining wall and a wooden utility pole, police said.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. This death marks the 111th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2024.
