    City of Las Vegas hosting Halloween events through October

    LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — The City of Las Vegas will be hosting several free or low-cost activities for kids or spooky-enjoyers of all ages during the month leading up to Halloween, it announced Monday.

    According to a release, from the city, all centers and city of Las Vegas offices will be closed on Friday, Oct. 25 in observance of Nevada Day.

    The City of Las Vegas’ list of Halloween Events is as follows:

    Barktoberfest (All ages)

    On Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon, families can bring their pets (on a leash!) to enjoy this free event held at the Veterans Memorial Community Center, located at 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive. The event will include a dog costume contest, a pooch parade, photo opportunites, agility course, pet trick-or-treating, and more.

    “We’re Dying to Feed You” Luncheon (ages 50+)

    Guests are encouraged to wear costumes and join neighbors for a “spooktacular” Halloween luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, located at 6601 N. Buffalo Drive. On the menu is pizza skulls with marinara shots, pasta salad, and monster doughnuts. Advance registration and annual active adult program membership required. Registration can be made by calling 702-229-1702. Cost is $10.

    Halloween Family Fun Night (all ages)

    Wear a costume and enjoy a viewing of “The Great Pumpkin” while decorating pumpkins and eating pie on Friday, Oct. 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Community Center, located 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive. Cost is $5 per person, and those interested should register in advance online , as space in limited.

    Ward 2 Trunk or Treat & Halloween Movie in the Park (all ages)

    Bring your family to this free and open to the public trunk-or-treat at the Bruce Trent Park, located at 8851 Vegas Drive on Friday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m., featuring a showing of “Hocus Pocus.”

    Halloween Garland Craft Workshop (ages 50+)

    On Thursday, Oct. 17, at 10:30 a.m., guests can go to the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, located at 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, to make and decorate a Halloween garland. Advanced registration is required, and can be made by calling 702-229-1702. This activity costs $7 per person.

    Teens On The Go (ages 11-14)

    Teens will go on a Halloween excursion to a pumpkin patch and Jason’s deli on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 3 to 7 p.m. Those attending should meet at the Veterans Memorial Community Center, located at 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive. Cost is $10 per person for staffing and transportation and approximately $30-$40 for food and entry fee. Advance registration is required and can be made by calling 702-229-1100.

    Lieburn Halloween Howl Luncheon (ages 50+)

    On Friday, Oct. 18 at 11:30 a.m., guests can don their costumes and enjoy a lunch of stew and pumpkin rolls at the Lieburn Active Adult Center, located 6230 Garwood Ave. After the luncheon, there will be games and a costume contest. Advance registration and annual active adult program membership required. Registration can be made by calling 702-229-1600.

    Ward 4 Halloween Event  & Movie in the Park

    Bring your family to this free and open to the public trunk-or-treat at the back parking lot of the Durango Hills Community Center/YMCA, located at 3521 N. Durango Drive on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m., featuring a showing of “Coco.”

    Halloween Nerf Mania (ages 8-14)

    Wear your costume and enjoy a “battle royale” of Nerf fun, including capture the flag and other team and individual competitions at the Veterans Memorial Community Center, located at 101 N. Pavilion Center Drive, on Friday, Oct. 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Players should provide their own nerf gun, while the center will provide darts and goggles. Cost is $5 per person and registration should be done online in advance , as space is limited.

    Hallo-Clean The Streets (all ages)

    On Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., dress in costume and join city of Las Vegas Neighborhood Services for its third annual downtown cleanup. Each costumed participant will receive a raffle ticket and be entered to win a prize. Meet in the parking lot of the John E. Carson Building and Downtown Alley at 120 S. Sixth St., check in will begin at 8:45 a.m.

    Cimarron Rose Halloween Spooktacular (all ages)

    Bring your family in costume to enjoy a safe Halloween event with carnival games, cupcake walk, bounce houses, a haunted maze, raffle prizes, and more. This event is free and will be held at Cimarron Rose Community Center, located at 5591 N. Cimarron Road, on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    Senior-Ween Halloween Luncheon (ages 50+)

    Dress in costume and enjoy a lunch and an afternoon of fun, food, games, and prizes at the Doolittle Active Adult Center, located at 1930 N. J St. The event costs $8 per person. Registration must be done by Oct. 22 as space is limited. City of Las Vegas active adult membership required. Call 702-229-6125 to register.

    Mirabelli Trunk or Treat (all ages)

    Bring your family to the Mirabelli Community Center & Park, located at 6200 Hargrove Ave on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. to enjoy bounce houses, a haunted sensory tent, carnival games, cupcake walk, and truck-or-treating. This event is free and open to all ages.

    Free Fall Festival (all ages)

    Get ready to experience a pumpkin patch, an array of vendors, games for all ages, a variety of food, and more at the East Las Vegas Community Center, locate at 250 N. Eastern Ave on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This event is free, though refreshments will be available for purchase. Costumes welcome!

    Dive-In Movie Night

    On Saturday, Oct. 26, enjoy a family film, spooky games, and activities at the Pavilion Center Pool, located at 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. The movie will be announced at a later date. Popcorn and water will be for sale.

    Wards 4 & 6 Movie in the Park

    Bring the family to Huckleberry Park, located at 10325 Farm Road, for a showing of “Coco” as well as DJ music and refreshments. This event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. and will be free and open to the public.

    Halloween Costume Contest (ages 50+)

    An event for adults to get dressed up and go trick-or-treating will be held at the Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, located at 6601 N. Buffalo Drive on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 2:30 p.m.

    Stupak Trunk or Treat (ages 3-12)

    Kids aged 3 to 12 are encouraged to wear costumes , bring a treat bag, and go Trunk-or-Treating at the Stupak Community Center, located at 251 W. Boston Ave on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    Halloween Safe Night Carnival (all ages)

    Bring your family in costumes to the Doolittle Community Center and adjacent park, located at 1950 N. J St., on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to enjoy ree carnival rides, kiddie games, bungie bounce, climbing wall, haunted hallway, classic cars trunk-or-treating, costume contest and more. This event is free for all ages.
