Las Vegas police find woman dead inside luggage, plead for info

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas police are searching for more information after a woman’s body was found inside luggage in the central valley.

On Oct. 3 just before 4:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a body near Spencer Street and East Reno Avenue near Harry Reid International Airport.

When officers arrived they found the body of a woman, identified as 46-year-old Kristen Avelar, inside a luggage bag near an apartment complex in the area.

Due to the “suspicious nature” of Avelar’s death, LVMPD’s homicide section has taken over the investigation.
