LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — One of the acts at the upcoming two-day When We Were Young music festival in Las Vegas on Oct. 19 and 20 has announced that they will no longer be performing at the shows.

According to a written note published on X, The All-American Rejects will no longer be playing the festival, citing the show operators as unable to accommodate the band in a previously agreed-upon way.

“There has been a management change within the [When We Were Young] operation, and they are no longer able to accommodate us in the previously agreed upon line-up, which has made it impossible for us to continue,” the release said.

The pop-punk band was set to play its self-titled 2002 album in its entirety. That album includes the band’s first hit song, “Swing Swing.”

In 2022, the festival’s first day was canceled due to forecasts of high winds in the Las Vegas valley, with expected gusts of nearly 50 mph. As a result, many bands that were left without performances rocked the surrounding Las Vegas valley in impromptu appearances . The All-American Rejects were among them, surprising fans in the Arts District.

“This is where musicians come and cut their teeth, so the fact that we get to set up here feels like the All-American Rejects,” said lead vocalist Tyson Ritter.

When We Were Young is put on by Live Nation. The festival announced Thursday that set times for the 2-day event will be released on Monday. Other bands scheduled to appear include My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, and Simple Plan, among many others.
