LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A motorcyclist is dead and two people were injured in a crash in the northwest Las Vegas valley.

On Monday around 7 p.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan police responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a small SUV near the intersection of Torrey Pines and Rancho drives.

Police said the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Rancho at a high rate of speed when the SUV, which was traveling southbound on Rancho, made a left turn in front of the motorcyclist’s path. The motorcyclist struck the rear portion of the SUV and was ejected from the motorcycle.

The 32-year-old motorcyclist, the 57-year-old SUV driver, and her 77-year-old passenger were all transported to UMC Trauma Center where the motorcyclist died of his injuries. The conditions of the other two were not released.

Police said the driver of the Lincoln SUV was cooperating with the investigation and didn’t show signs of impairment.

The motorcyclist’s death is the 123rd traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2024.
