LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro police said that a disruptive house party turned deadly early Saturday morning and those in the neighborhood showed 8 News Now the damage that was left behind.

“This morning when I woke up. My wife and I were getting ready to leave the house and the streets were blocked off still, so I talked with police, and they said, whoever got shot last night, died,” Rudy who lives nearby shared with 8 News Now.

Police said a drive-by shooting happened just after midnight, on Saturday. A person who was at the party opened fire toward a boy as he was walking down the street. That car then took off, leaving the scene, police said.

Police are searching for the suspect as the boy was found dead lying in the street, according to neighbors.

Nearby neighbor, Ignacio Montes showed 8 News Now the damage to his property after the shooting. He said that his family had to duck and cover after hearing how close the shots were.

“I heard a lot of shots, like, ‘boom, boom, boom,”’ Montes said. “I told my wife to go to the floor.”

“This is the hole from the bullet that came from the outside into my house,” he told 8 News Now.

Montes is beyond thankful the bullet didn’t hit him or his wife as they were in the other room trying to sleep, but knowing how close it left him feeling uneasy about living in the neighborhood.

8 News Now spoke to the homeowner where the party took place and was told they didn’t know the suspect or the victim as they were throwing a Halloween party.

If you know anything about this shooting, please call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 to remain anonymous.
