TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse County Road Commission has released the schedule for road work expected to begin Aug. 12 in several townships.
Roads to be worked on include South Long Lake Road and the West Long Lake Road intersection in Long Lake Township, Zue Road and Pavlis Road to County Road 633 in Grant Township, and Diamond Park Road at the bridge between 10185 and 10250 Diamond Park Road in Green Lake Township.
Road commission crew activities at various locations will include pothole patching, tree trimming, sign repair, ditching and mowing. All work is weather-permitting.
The commission is asking drivers to plan ahead, expect delays, be patient and slow down where workers are present as the crews complete work.
The specifications for each site are included below:
- Long Lake Township - South Long Lake Road/West Long Lake Road Intersection
- Crews will be working on reconstructing this intersection.
- Work should take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The entire project is expected to last until the end of August.
- Starting Wednesday, Aug. 14 S. Long Lake Road will be closed at W. Long Lake Road to approximately 1000′ east of the W. Long Lake Road Intersection. W. Long Lake Road will continue to be closed at the beginning of the week.
- S. Long Lake will be reduced to one lane from Fisher Road to W. Long Lake Road and will be controlled by temporary traffic signals. There will be times when traffic will be maintained on a gravel surface.
- Traffic will need to utilize W. Long Lake Road, N. Long Lake Road, E. Long Lake Road and Secor Road
- Grant Township - Zue Road, Pavlis Road to County Road 633
- Crews will continue working on a crush and shape project. Work is expected to take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
- Zue Road will be closed to thru traffic. Please utilize County Road 633, W. County Line Road and Pavlis Road. Local traffic will be directed by flaggers.
- Work is expected to be completed by Aug. 30.
- Green Lake Township - Diamond Park Road at the bridge, between 10185 and 10250 Diamond Park Road
- Crews will continue working on the bridge. This project is expected to last until Sept. 2.
- Traffic will not be able to get through and will need to utilize Karlin Road and Betsie River Road.
