8 wanted subjects arrested in raids at 2 properties in Mecosta Co.

On Thursday, Aug. 15, the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant to investigate a reported assault with a handgun.

Detectives established that the suspect was a wanted felon who was absconding from parole. He also had multiple warrants out for his arrest, and multiple people with warrants were staying on the property with him.

Several local and state departments, including the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office and MSP, teamed up to execute the search. Early Thursday morning, law enforcement secured the property – multiple structures, campers and vehicles.

In total, six subjects were arrested. The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office said evidence including meth, live and spent ammo, and stolen property were found at the scene.

Information discovered during this search led the team to a second location, where two additional wanted subjects were arrested.
