MECOSTA COUNTY — On Aug. 18 at 3:03 p.m., deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office witnessed and responded to a two-vehicle personal injury crash on Perry Avenue at the intersection of 215th Avenue.

A 76-year-old woman from Stanwood failed to yield the right of way for a 38-year-old man from Baldwin, deputies said. The woman turned south in front of the man, who was eastbound while in the intersection, leading to the collision, deputies said.

The Stanwood woman was taken to the Big Rapids Corewell Health Hospital for minor non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said. The Baldwin man and his passengers were not injured, they said.

Deputies were assisted by Meceola Central Dispatch, Big Rapids TWP Fire, Mecosta EMS, Big Rapids Towing and Curries Towing.
