    UPDATE 8/20/24 6:30 p.m.

Steven Lisowski, wanted by Milwaukee Police for stealing a car, was arrested Tuesday by a National Park Service ranger and a Benzie County K-9 officer at Sleeping Bear Dunes.

After the car was located at the National Lakeshore, multiple agencies worked together to find him. NPS said the ranger, officer and Lisowski were all injured during the arrest. They were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The case is still under investigation.

A search for a missing Wisconsin man is underway in Leelanau County.

Steven Lisowski was last seen in Milwaukee on Saturday night. The National Park Service got a call Sunday night from Milwaukee Police about a stolen car driven by Lisowski that pinged at Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Park rangers were able to find the car, but there was no one inside.

Right now, Lisowski’s connection to the park is unknown. You should call police if you spot him or see anything suspicious in the area.
