Several injured in early morning crash in Mecosta Co.

MECOSTA COUNTY — On Aug. 21 at 1:24 a.m., deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office were sent to a single-vehicle crash on US 131 N/MM 144.

A vehicle in the left lane went off the roadway, deputies said. It crossed both lanes of traffic before going into a ditch and rolling multiple times before ending on its top, deputies said.

High speed was a factor in the crash, they said.

The driver, a 20-year-old woman from Reed City, was checked by EMS and released, deputies said. A 21-year-old woman from Reed City and a 20-year-old man from Evert were taken to Corewell Hospital in Big Rapids for non-life-threatening injuries, they reported.

Deputies were assisted by Mecosta County EMS, Big Rapids City Fire and Rescue, Meceola Central Dispatch and Big Rapids Towing.
