Michigan Paranormal Convention - ‘MIPARACON’ - kicks off its final year

SAULT STE. MARIE — The biggest names in the paranormal scene will converge one last time this weekend in Chippewa County.

The 14th annual Michigan Paranormal Convention (MIPARACON) started at noon on Thursday and runs through Saturday evening at Kewadin Casino. It’s an annual gathering of paranormal enthusiasts, authors, investigators and television personalities.

Nearly 1,000 people were expected to attend the final year of the event to meet paranormal experts like Chip Coffey, Amy Bruni, Adam Berry and Jeff Bellanger.

Organizers and the Sault Convention and Visitors Bureau recently made the tough decision to discontinue the annual convention. They said it’s going to be a bittersweet ending to a popular event.

“In the past, we knew we would see them again in another year. This year, it is going to be very different. There’s going to be, no doubt in my mind, as the weekend goes on, a lot of emotions, lots of hugs, lots of tears, but a lot of happiness at the same time. Give it a shot. Come on out and see what it is all about,” said Tim Ellis, MIPARACON co-founder.

Advance tickets are no longer available online, but day passes for Friday and Saturday are still available at Kewadin Casino.
