On Tuesday, Oct. 15, a Cadillac Police officer attempted to stop a pickup truck on W. Division Street just West of Seneca Place.

The driver didn’t stop, leading the officer on a short chase onto east M-115, Lofgren Road and then west on East Lake Mitchell Drive.

Near the intersection of East Lake Mitchell Drive and Thirteenth Street, the suspect went off the roadway into the ditch. However, the officer said the driver was able to get out of the ditch and rammed the patrol car head on. Their truck pushed the patrol car back several feet and disabled it.

Police said the suspect then took off west on Thirteenth Street. The officer was transported to Munson ER of Cadillac where he was treated and released.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect or their vehicle.

The Cadillac Police Department was assisted by Michigan State Police, Wexford County Sheriff’s Office, Selma Township Fire Department and Cherry Grove EMS.
