It has been an exciting season for spring sports at Lithia Springs this year as the Lions' boys soccer team got off to their best start in recent years, having won eight out of their first 10 matches of the season and would earn a Georgia High School Association 5A State Championship tournament berth. Meanwhile, the Lions' girls track and field team raced their way to the GHSA 5A state title.

On Tuesday, the Lions continued to celebrate as several student athletes signed their national letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers. For senior soccer captain, Jordan Jeffers, Tuesday would end with the defender signing his NLI to play for Emmanuel University, while track seniors Emanni Roberts (Austin Peay), Nikylah Crawley (Bethune-Cookman), Nevaeh Shedrick (Alabama State), and Destiny Jenkins (Memphis) all signed their NLI's.

"I would say that it means so much," Shedrick said the opportunity to share the special moment of the four seniors' high school careers together. "We worked so hard the past four years and the icing on the cake was us winning state this year," the Alabama State signee said, adding that it was a good feeling knowing that their "hard work" paid off. Hard work that Jenkins noted they at times had to push themselves through.

"In that sun, on those cold days, days I was sick and didn't feel like coming, I know the other girls felt the exact same thing. It was super hard to win it, but we did it and I just thank God," Jenkins said. Roberts would echo Jenkins sentiments on the hard work that the young ladies put in over the years was well worth the end results and as Crawley expressed, "it feels so great to finally win one and then come here and sign with my teammates," the Bethune-Cookman signee said.
