The 2024 NFL season is upon as training camps opened up this week, with the Falcons hosting their first day of practice of Thursday. And while this year’s training camp is closed to the public and player’s families, due to construction at Flowery Branch, members of the media were able to get their first look at the now Raheem Morris led Falcons and that included new quarterback, Kirk Cousins.

On Friday, Steak Shapiro and Sandra Golden shared their thoughts on the atmosphere at the Falcons’ training facilities and how they both believed there was a shift in the feelings around the room as Raheem Morris starts his tenure as head coach for Atlanta.

“You know, the energy of this place is completely different from Arthur Smith,” Shapiro said as he explained how the former Falcons head coach appeared to often “operate a little bit paranoid, kind of short fused,”. In agreeance with Shapiro, Golden noted that following Thursday’s practice, noted that there was noticeable difference in energy with Morris and his staff and it appeared to be a welcomed change.

“Attitude is contagious,” Golden told Shapiro as she explained how the positive energy that Morris exhumed seemingly rubbed off on his assistance and players.  “I watched Zach Harrison yesterday, he’s running across the field, he’s high fiving, I mean there’s a lot of energy,” Golden added. So while it is yet to be seen if the “energy” that Morris has bought to the Falcons will translate to wins, there’s seems to be a lot of early optimism already in Flowery Branch.
