Why Kirby Smart was right to call out Georgia fans

Georgia’s 31-13 win over Auburn was drama free during the game. The fifth ranked Bulldogs bounced back from their first regular-season loss in almost four years, and handled business. However, a headline was made after the game when Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart called out Dawg fans and challenged them to be better.

“I want our fan base to appreciate what we have, and give their all and be unbelievable with crowd noise and make energy because we need it to be tough on other teams to play here, but it’s not, it’s not the same as it’s been in the past. It’s got to be energetic, you know what it was hot today, it was hot today, it was hot on our players too, and our players pushed through it so I’m really proud of this team because I thought it was a tough week and we answered the bell.” Coach Smart said.

Rain, snow, hot, or cold Coach Smart wants the fan base to show up and show out every week, and he challenged them to do just that, and earlier today The Morning Shift explained why Kirby wasn’t wrong for calling out the fans.

“I agree with Kirby. I think Kirby is disappointed that he has to say that because it shouldn’t be that we only cheer as loud as we can when we’re undefeated, or we know we’re a couple of wins away from a national title.” Beau Morgan said

Mike Johnson and Beau both agree that Georgia has a good fan base, and that Bulldogs fans will take Kirby’s comments to heart, and “bounce back” next game. Beau said he guarantees Georgia fans will be “early and loud” for the Dawgs next home game versus Mississippi State.

With a big game against eighth ranked Tennessee coming later on in the season, and Georgia obviously still in the mix to win the SEC, make the College Football Playoff, and win a National Title this should hopefully be the only wake up call it has to give to Georgia fans for them to show up and show out for the rest of the season.
