Following breaking news Tuesday morning in which it was reported Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Colbie Young was arrested for misdemeanor assault and battery on an unborn child, The Steakhouse shared thoughts on the incident and its impact on the Bulldogs program and how UGA may be viewed in the public eye.

“It’s just a really, really bad look and a bad situation,” Steak Shapiro said as he and Sandra Golden reacted to the news of Young’s arrest, which adds to a not-so-short list of player-related legal issues this season including the arrest of Rara Thomas, who was released from the team, back in July for a felony charge of cruelty to children and two misdemeanor charges of battery.

As their conversation continued and Golden asked Shapiro to elaborate on his “bad look” statement, he explained how he believes with Young’s arrest being not far removed from that of Thomas’, with both incidents involving physical contact with females, Georgia may be seen in a bad light.

“To be in the headlines for your players laying hands on a woman, it’s your second player in a short amount of time,” Shapiro responded, noting he believes the latest Georgia arrest will now overshadow Kirby Smart’s recent call for Georgia fans to be more energetic at home games.

“You know what folks are going to say, 'you know what you need to coach, you need to worry about the kids on your team and teaching them how to behave and figure out who you’re bringing into the program,’” Shapiro added as he tells Golden he believes Smart’s focus no longer needs to be on fans “leaving at halftime” of a home game.
