Herbo might’ve dodged a long prison sentence, but it looks like he’s now trying to dodge paying his lawyers! In a move so ironic it could be the plot of a sitcom, G Herbo’s very own legal team is now suing him for skipping out on his bill after they helped him beat his 2020
wire fraud case. You can’t make this stuff up!

According to court docs dug up by HipHopDX on September 25, the Chicago rapper’s legal squad, “Prince Lobel Tye”, is coming after him for breach of contract and unjust enrichment(a fancy way of saying, “You got all this money, and we still ain’t been paid!”). They claim Herbo stopped paying them just two weeks before his sentencing—talk about timing. Maybe he thought once he was free, the lawyer fees would just disappear like those designer puppies he allegedly scammed.
The firm says Herbo, real name Mr. Wright, owes them a cool $237,582.67. Oh, and they tacked on $26,542.85 in interest because, you know, legal fees work like credit cards when you don’t pay them off. The last payment they got from him? December 29, 2023. Now, for each month he’s been ducking them, they want 1.2% interest. Somebody’s calculator is getting more work than Herbo’s checkbook right now.
In case you missed it, G Herbo got off with a pretty sweet deal in January—just three years’ probation for his part in a scheme where he and his crew allegedly used stolen identities to live like royalty. We’re talking private jets, a villa in Jamaica, and even designer puppies—because if you’re going to scam, you might as well get bougie with it. The prosecutors wanted him to do some real time, but his lawyers managed to convince the judge that probation would “reflect the seriousness of the charge.” A year in prison? Nah, let’s call it even with some supervised release and no puppies allowed.
Now, while G Herbo was busy flexing on how he avoided prison, his lawyers were probably sitting there, sipping their coffee like, “Where’s our money, man?”
So, what’s the lesson here, kids? Well, if you’re going to hire lawyers to help you out of a federal fraud case, make sure you pay them before they end up suing you too. After all, nothing screams “irony” louder than beating a wire fraud case, only to get hit with another lawsuit because you didn’t settle your tab.
