People in Texas love to go big when attempting to do just about anything, so I was excited to do a little research on the largest party that ever took place in Texas. And after looking around online I did find out some interesting details around an event in 1989 that was called the “Biggest Party in History”.</p><p>You need to understand that back in 1989 there was a little bit more of a laid-back vibe, and of course if you’re going to be throwing one of the biggest parties in history you need to have it sponsored by a big beer company, so this party was powered by Miller-Lite. But when you think about the biggest party in Texas, it’s not just about one party, this event spanned over multiple cities.</p><h2>It Was a Gigantic Party Labor Day Weekend in 1989</h2><p>Miller Lite spent nearly $15 million dollars promoting the events that took place in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Odessa, McAllen, Houston and Dallas. It really was a statewide party with everything from beach volleyball to live music to pro wrestling. There were two stadium shows to headline the huge weekend with the Who and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble.
