Smith didn’t hold back on his thoughts about Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson on ESPN recently.

“Russell Wilson, you’re starting to piss me off,” Smith said on First Take Thursday.

Wilson, who played for a bit this past Saturday in the Steeler second preseason game of the year against the Buffalo Bills went 8-for-10 with 47 years, no touchdowns and no interceptions.

His longest pass was for 12-yards.

It wasn’t the start that Head Coach Mike Tomlin was hoping for. Wilson will play again on Saturday in the preseason finale against the Lions in Detroit.

Smith took exception to Wilson’s comments after the game, basically telling Steelers fans not to worry about the showing on the field.

“If our practices weren't as good as they have been, you'd be a little bit more heightened and concerned,” Wilson said. “ I think the sense of urgency is always high. If we scored three, four touchdowns, the sense of urgency still should be high. I think that's where you can't be tricked and fooled on a moment. You have to be able to understand it's a long process and it's a process that you've got to enjoy.”

“He’s sitting there with some smile on his face, talking about ‘everybody just needs to relax’,” said Smith. “You ain’t Aaron Rodgers, you don’t get to say that, you gotta show up. You’re wearing the black and gold now, you’re a Steeler.”

Smith said there is a reason the Broncos are paying nearly $40 million to keep Wilson out of Denver.

“The only damn thing good you brought to Denver was Ciara,” added Smith, talking about Wilson’s wife.

Smith is also taking exception to Wilson’s attitude that he is acting like he’s already beat out Justin Fields for the top QB spot.

“You are fighting for your career,” said Smith.
