Deadline Approaching To Apply For Virginia SUN Bucks Program

Parents and guardians in Virginia have until August 30 to apply for the Virginia SUN Bucks Program. This program is available to eligible families whose income meets specific criteria. Many families have automatically received the benefit if they are already enrolled in programs like SNAP, TANF, or Medicaid-based income programs.

The funds provided by the SUN Bucks Program can be used to purchase food at most grocery stores and farmers’ markets throughout Virginia. Applications can be submitted by mailing a printed form to 5600 Cox Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060, or by calling the Virginia Department of Social Services at 866-513-1414.

If approved, families will receive a one-time payment of $120 per eligible school-aged child. The payment is issued via an electronic benefit transfer card.
