Billings Renter Ordered to Remove American Flag from Balcony
Look, I get it. These establishments want their apartment complexes to look nice, and they don't want all of their tenants to be caught in the middle of political disputes and bickering. Some flags that could be flown over apartment balconies could be seen as very offensive. But why not at least allow the American flag to be flown?
Where Does Montana’s Bottled Water Actually Originate?
I cannot tell you how many trips I have taken over McDonald Pass near Helena. However, I can tell you how many jugs and bottles we have stashed at home for collecting what my son calls "magical mountain water." I'm talking about the roadside spring that rushes out of the side of the mountain. The popular stop on the pass allows people a chance to fill up jugs of natural spring water for free.

Montana Veterans Needed for Fascinating UM Brain Injury Research
Some very interesting research is being done at The University of Montana when it comes to traumatic brain injury (TBI). The research will be particularly helpful for veterans, but in reality will assist anyone impacted by TBI. Several years ago I attended a veterans conference in Billings featuring the Neural...

A Look Back At 1976: Fort Missoula’s First 4th Of July Celebration
The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula is getting ready for another community Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration. Recently we had the executive director of the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula, Matt Lautzenheiser, on our radio stations talking about the upcoming event. He mentioned that this year is going to look much different than the very first celebration almost 50 years ago. That got me curious about the first celebration.
Fireside Chat with Senator Daines & Chief Clem in Montana
Montana Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) joined us as we wrapped up a weeklong tour traveling Montana and talking border security with retired Border Patrol Chief Chris Clem. Senator Daines was one of the first on Capitol Hill to highlight the security concerns out of Central Asia earlier this year. Then, earlier this month we heard how Tajik nationals were allowed to cross our southern border, released into the country, and then basically re-arrested after it was determined that they had ties to terrorism.

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) couldn't stop talking about how much he loves Montana. He says the trout are a little smarter than the fish he's used to catching down in Louisiana. Senator Kennedy is one of the most entertaining and informative elected officials in Washington, D.C. He was back here...

My Missoula Marathon Playlist
We are under a month until the Missoula Marathon/Half Marathon day (June 30). I am running the Half Marathon and let me tell you it's going to be a struggle. I chose a bad time to plan vacations and concerts where I've been drinking more alcohol and eating more unhealthy foods than I should while training for a half-marathon.
Yellowstone Tourism Numbers. Glacier Crashes Stymie Traffic
The national park tourism crush is definitely underway in Montana. Unfortunately, a few tourism crashes helped grind visitations to a halt this past week in one of the parks. But, it is a relief that there were no fatalities. YELLOWSTONE BY THE SPRING NUMBERS. The visitation count only increases from...

I need to get this off my chest before I write this article: I HATE the word 'fart.' It's such a juvenile word that makes my skin crawl. I cannot stand it and I don't want to hear you say the word 'f**t' around me... EVER. If you're thinking "What...

Yellowstone Is Catching On To How Attractive Missoula People Are
Missoula... y'all are beautiful. Los Angeles, or any city in California, receives a lot of credit for their beautiful people. Rightfully so but don't sleep on the beauty of Missoulians. I'm serious about this, by the way. When I moved to Missoula two years ago and experienced my first summer...

Can You Collect Rocks From Around Montana? Yes and No
I appreciate a good stone. I'm not a rock skipper, or even a rock hound, but I have been known to slip a rock in my pocket if I find a "good one." While I know in Montana it's best to "leave no trace" meaning, to pick up after yourself but to also leave nature undistribued, I wondered if it is illegal to collect rocks in Montana.
