    94WIP's Glen Macnow announces his retirement

    Long-time 94WIP radio host Glen Macnow announced his retirement on his show on Saturday, April 20th after 31-plus years at WIP.

    Macnow's final show on 94WIP will be on Saturday, July 13th.

    Macnow, 68, was born in New York City and began his career as a writer, landing in Philadelphia with The Philadelphia Inquirer in 1986.

    Macnow, who has spent 38 years as a member of the Philadelphia sports media, was named "The Best Sportswriter in Philadelphia" in 1993 by Philadelphia Magazine.

    Macnow has written three top Philadelphia sports books, acted in a variety of plays, reviewed countless restaurants in the Delaware Valley area, and is a partner of the Conshy Brewing Co.

    I had the misfortune of meeting him at the station. I was doing a segment with Glen, and when we went to break. He became the biggest J.O. I'd ever met. Talking down to me and telling me to stay in my lane. I triggered him by asking his opinion if he believed I could make bring on air a full-time job. Because of his reaction, I never went back on air, and I stopped listening to Sports Talk radio.
