Daryl Morey: Tyrese Maxey 'made this offseason happen'

Daryl Morey gave credit to Tyrese Maxey, and his agent Rich Paul to a lesser extent, for the Sixers being able to put together the offseason that they've had.

"[Maxey] made this offseason happen," Morey told Ike Reese, Spike Eskin and Jack Fritz on Tuesday's 94WIP Afternoon Show. "Without Tyrese, this offseason can't happen...I think Rich Paul was a big factor here. He's very experienced in being a part of winning teams."

Maxey, 23, waited a full year to sign his five-year, $204 million extension, which allowed Morey, Elton Brand and the Sixers' front-office to sign Paul George to a four-year, $211.5 million contract this summer.

The Sixers' organization surprised Maxey with an incredible presentation earlier this month to celebrate him which included Joel Embiid, Julius Erving and his family.

Philadelphia was also able to sign Andre Drummond, Eric Gordon, Caleb Martin, and Reggie Jackson as well as re-sign Kelly Oubre and Kyle Lowry.
