Jason Kelce on his return to Linc for Monday Night Countdown: 'Potential to be very raucous'

Jason Kelce says the atmosphere during his upcoming Week 2 appearance on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown at Lincoln Financial Field “has the potential to be really raucous.”

"I think it's going to be pretty chaotic," Kelce said on Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show. "We're gonna be outside, I think right outside of Xfinity if I'm not mistaken right in the parking lot. It has the potential to really be very raucous. Nick Foles is coming back. I think Fletch [Fletcher Cox] might be coming back. Philadelphia fans are gonna be really fired up. Obviously the first home game of the year if you don't count Brazil, which none of us do. So I'm really looking forward to it."

The Eagles are 6.5 point favorites at home on Monday night against Kirk Cousins and the Falcons, who Kelce expects to be fired up after a "sluggish" offensive performance in a Week 1 loss against an incredibly tough Pittsburgh Steelers front.

Foles, who recently retired from the NFL, will be honored during halftime of the Eagles-Falcons game on Monday night.

"The amount of emotions everybody in the city felt upon winning that Super Bowl," Kelce said of Foles. "But not only that, but Nick Foles happened to play the best game of his career in the biggest game against the best quarterback in the history of the National Football League. It's the epitome of a Cinderella story...He's a guy whenever he's in the huddle, I felt like, 'Hey we're about to go dominate.' But for whatever reason at these other stops never really panned out. I think that in some ways Philadelphia probably even loves that more. There's something about Philadelphia and we've talked about it before—one of the reasons I'm even doing this show—they love their own more than like most cities do. Nick Foles feels like he's Philadelphia's more so than like—I don't know anybody feels. It just feels very, very much like he was meant to play for the Philadelphia Eagles and there was like this divine play for him to come here and dominant...I don't know that there are any type of words that can sum up what he means to the city."

Kelce, who is now an ESPN Monday Night Football Countdown analyst, joins Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie live in-studio on the 94WIP Morning Show every Thursday from 7:30-8:30am.

Kelce also talked about his brother's girlfriend Taylor Swift winning seven VMA Awards on Wednesday night.
