Donovan McNabb loved the Philadelphia Eagles' controversial decision to throw the ball late in the game on Monday night in an eventual loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

"I thought it was a great play call," McNabb told Ike Reese, Spike Eskin and Jack Fritz on Tuesday's 94WIP Afternoon Show. "I don't think that [play call] was the reason they lost the game...But we couldn't stop the run, we let Kirk Cousins pretty much play seven-on-seven."

On 3rd-and-3 with 1:46 to go in the game on the Falcons' 10-yard line, the Eagles opted to throw the ball while holding a three point lead, despite Atlanta have no timeouts. The play resulted in a devastating drop by Saquon Barkley.

The Eagles settled for a field-goal and Kirk Cousins lead the Falcons down the field, throwing a game-winning touchdown pass to Drake London.
