Padres trade for Dylan Cease

UPDATE: The Padres have officially announced the trade for Dylan Cease:

According to multiple reports, the Padres have traded for White Sox RHP Dylan Cease, who was the AL Cy Young runner up with 2022. Prior to a down season in 2023, Cease struck out 227 hitters in 184 innings with a 2.20 ERA in 2022. Cease has two years of control left, and will make $8 million this season.

According to multiple reports, Drew Thorpe, Jairo Iriarte, Samuel Zavala and Steven Wilson will be sent to Chicago in exchange for Cease.
