Cardinals defeat Padres 5-2

The Padres lost to the Cardinals 5-2 on Tuesday night, despite a strong pitching effort from Yu Darvish. Tyler Wade's RBI-double in the 4th inning gave the Padres a 2-1 lead. Darvish entered the 6th inning having allowed just one run on a sac-fly in the 3rd inning, but Willson Contreras blasted a 2-run home run to center field to put the Cardinals on top 3-2. The Cardinals would add 2 insurance runs in the top of the 8th inning off of Yuki Matsui, and Ryan Helsley shut the door in the 9th, earning his first save of the season.
